Hobbes's Birthday

My work friend Kevin and his roommate were throwing a birthday party for their cat, Hobbes, on Saturday. Hey, any excuse for a party when the weather is this nice I guess. It was pretty fun, even though I didn't know most of the people there.

I think that Callie is jealous of the party. She is sitting on the desk next to me while I type this. Well maybe she's not all that jealous. She wouldn't like it if other people were here to distract me from her.

So anyway, highlights of the even were, of course, the drinking games. I learned how to play King's Cup. It involves a deck of cards that will get ruined, and lots of beer. You just take turns picking cards randomly. I don't remember all the rules, but basically the last person to draw a king has to drink the pitcher. Of course the rest of the time people are drinking like crazy because for nearly every card that's drawn, SOMEONE has to drink. I learned two things: 1) Kevin is the Question Master, and 2) Don't mess with my ability to draw 4 10s in a row (which means I got to make stupid rules everyone had to follow). Well I guess the third thing I learned was that you should know how many kings are in the deck before you start. Let's just say that in this particular instance, with three kings already drawn and only three cards remaining, there was a 2/3 chance of drawing a king. That math doesn't work out right.

So now I'm recovered from the hangover since it's Sunday night and I'm ready to hit the sack. Maybe some day this week I'll motivate myself to figure out why drupal is giving me out of memory errors when I try to view "book" pages.
